Cambridge Kids Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of their playworkers.
We recognise that if a member of the team is well, they can provide a good ambiance for the team and as consequence a better play environment for the children attending our clubs.
As Cambridge Kids Club we understand the importance to create a wellbeing workplace culture by:
- Having senior playworkers lead by example;
- Keep the communication going;
- Rewarding playworkers that contribute to changing the clubs;
- Investing in our employees; and,
- Providing feedback
We also understand that implementing a good wellbeing culture is not a quick process, but instead needs some patience for make sure that constructive and helpful changes are effective in the company.
With new challenges playworkers have to face day after day, we want to invest more time for the wellbeing of our playworkers and since, certain individual situations cannot be anticipated, we want to introduce new forms of keep in touch and communication with playworker.
At any point a member of staff that would like to get in touch or feel the need to share with someone else, they can get in contact with us in a secure and confidential way.
On top of virtual video calling, the regular chat with senior playleaders and coordinator, we thought that a simple form – below – for some of the playworkers could be a good initial step for them to let us know of any mental health problem and/or any downside in their life.
